This course has been designed by the University Language Centre (CLA) at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia.
The online Italian language course is aimed at all University exchange students who took the placement test but did not achieve an A1 level on the Common European Framework of Reference. An A1 level is the minimum required for admission to the Regular Italian Language courses (A2, B1 and B2 levels) that are held each semester (the first semester starts in October and the second semester starts in March each year). This online course is also available to students who cannot attend their courses regularly and who need to improve their skills through additional study.
The online Italian language course provides an introduction to basic Italian with materials designed for complete beginners. Its aim is to prepare students for A1 level, which is the minimum requirement for admission to Regular Italian Language courses (A2, B1 and B2 levels). The course enables students to practice with A1 level materials so that they can improve their comprehension of spoken and written Italian, as well as of grammar.
The online course contains thematic units that include:
- input (listening, pictures, phrases, dialogues, brief texts);
- grammar reviews;
- activities and exercises (comprehension, true/false, matching, cloze).
To enroll, enter the portale moodle CLA and click on Login Studente “Single Sign-On” on the top right of the page; students will need to provide the email username and password they were assigned when they registered with the students’ secretariat. Once students have entered the website, each activity will be recorded by the system, and the language advisors will be kept up-to-date on each student’s progress.
